"Mosborn Messier Marathon" on March 10/11 *). As it was the night from Sunday to Monday and I announced at only four hours in advance by email, I was on my own this time. For observing I used my Steiner 15x80 mm binoculars only, no telescope. I was able to find all objects except those (as expected) rising during dawn (M30,M54,M55,M69,M70,M72,M73,M75), giving a satisfying number of 102! This is by far my best result yet, because this was my first marathon with good weather conditions all night long. Hardest object to identify was M74, and M2 in the morning because of cirrus clouds in this area. Good seeing! Klaus Schulze-Frerichs Neuberg Germany *) March 10 is an early date for a Messier marathon at 50° N - a marathon held two weeks later can show all but two Messier objects at this latitude.
