Alan and Lynn Gingrich took this beautiful image of globular cluster M12 during their stay at the Kitt Peak Visitor Center's Advanced Observing Program, on March 24, 2001. They used the AOP's Meade 16in LX200 telescope operating at f/6.3 with SBIG ST8E CCD camera with color filter wheel.

    Globular cluster M12 in Ophiuchus is shown here in approximately true-color. This picture was created from images taken in June 1995 using BVR colors, at the Burrell Schmidt telescope of Case Western Reserve University's Warner and Swasey Observatory located on Kitt Peak, near Tucson, Arizona, during the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program operated at the Kitt Peak National Observatory and supported by the National Science Foundation. Image size is 20.3 arc minutes.
